I used to fail every diet I tried. Not because I lacked willpower. But because I was asked to choose between my health⦠and my culture.
Bland chicken breast. Steamed veggies. Day after day. Meanwhile, nasi lemak, mee goreng, and kari ayam were right there. Delicious, comforting, ours.
Who can stay disciplined when your soul craves what your plate denies?
We're told to eat "clean". But no one said it had to feel like punishment. And no one said we had to give up who we are to be healthy.

Then I discovered the calorie deficit approach. I realized I could still eat my favorite Malaysian food. As long as my daily intake stayed within limits.
I started tracking with MyFitnessPal and paired consistent logging with an easy exercise β Brisk Walking. But something felt off.
It tracked calories... But not my life. No context for weekend lepak, kampung portions, or teh tarik after nasi kandar.
That's when I realized: Malaysians don't need another Western app. We need one built for our habits, our food, our rhythm.
